The invaders are on their way and your confederation of planets is ill prepared to defend themselves. Take charge and improve your planets, crafting a powerful economy and defenses to fight them off.

Each turn you draw a set of five planets. Select three of these to play and spend your resources on improving the other two. Build up your economy and your defenses quickly as there is not much time before the invaders arrive. Each wave of attackers is stronger than the last and has a special effect on the game.

After each wave you will gain a new pair of buildings that are more powerful than those you had before.

Good Luck!

Very good game, just three problems.

1) The game seems to slow down a LOT when the player places too many buildings of the same type.  I'll try to keep count the next time I encounter this problem, but it seems to be at about 20 Space Mines (for example; I've also seen this with 20 Railguns, if I remember correctly).

2) The Targeting System building seems to have no effect whatsoever.  It doesn't increase the defense value of buildings on the same planet or buildings on other played planets.

3) The Vertical Farm seems to come up to speed too slowly to be useful.  I just go with Black Markets as my first income buildings.

Other than that, well done!

[edit - 2021-May-19]

On point 1: It's 17 copies of the same building type where the animation speed starts to slow down slightly.  Note, I'm playing the browser version.

On point 3: I'm revising my opinion.  The Vertical Farm is fine, it's the Ammunition Factory that ramps up in effect too slowly.  The Ammunition Factory only becomes available in wave 2, a planet will only get played about 5 times (on average) in Waves 2 and 3(*), so I never use the Ammunition Factory at all.

(*) 3 planets are played per turn.  There are 22 turns in Waves 2 and 3 combined.  There are 13 planets.  3*22/13 ~= 5

I love it! It took a few tries to reach the end, but that's a good difficulty level for me.

When you play a bunch of spaces mines and get like 100 defense during a single turn, it feels good ;P

Yay! I've finished the game after fourth attempt!

it with  a bunch of railguns

nvm it is working had to reload

why wont it load

Putting up a lot of Rail Guns really slows it down, for some reason.

Excellent little deck builder!! Very nice!!!

In case you are still updating the game (since it's a jam game) a little feedback. Show on hover over each planet card the total resources (or even better also a more detailed summary) acquired when you play this specific card. As it is now you only see the new global total of resources if you actually play the card.

Finally it is possible to put (even untested) a linux version of the game? Since you are using Unity game engine.

Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed it! We aren't planning to make any changes to this game as there are a number of things we would have done differently if we weren't limited on time. Instead we have decided it would be better to make a new game that is similar to this one, and we will try to incorporate all the great feedback we have been getting.

Also I uploaded a Linux version of the game for you. I'm not sure if it works or not so let me know if you give it a try.

Excellent!!
Also thanks you very much for the linux version.
I always prefer to play native linux version when available!!
Just so you know the game run perfectly on Linux Mint 18.3 (my main pc). In case you want to include this info on your game description.

This game's concept is a lot of fun.  I could totally see it as a single-player or multi-player-cooperative board game, too!

Thanks for the comment! It does lag a bit in the browser so we are going to put up a windows version soon.
